Mango Madness Tea Review

21 October, 2013 by Giselle Rochford 2 Comments

mango madness tea

The Tea:

This afternoon I had a cup of David’s Tea’s Mango Madness tea. This white tea contains apple pieces, orange peel, orange slices, pineapple, mango, freeze dried tangerine and strawberry pieces, marigold blossoms and safflower petals. Phew try saying that in one breath πŸ˜†

The Preparation:

Use 2 tsp per cup and steep for 5 – 7 minutes in 94C water.

The Smell:

The ingredient list should have given me a heads up, but I really wasn’t prepared for just how fruity the Mango Madness tea smelled. It actually reminded me a little bit of mango juice…a weird hot version…but mango juice nonetheless πŸ˜‰

The Taste:

There were definitely mangoes present in the Mango Madness tea, but unlike the mango peach tea, there were so many other subtle flavours vying for my attention. While sipping I tasted lots of orange and pineapple but the aftertaste was definitely all mango.

I was drinking the Mango Madness tea while baking and of course I forgot about it and it got cold. I took a sip anyway and WOW it’s a billion times better cold and it was pretty good hot, so that’s saying something! I’m definitely gonna have the last bit iced πŸ˜€

I must say though, that I didn’t get much of a tea flavour from this one. I’m not sure what white tea is supposed to taste like but unless it’s fruit in disguise, it wasn’t really potent.

The Experience:

Today was so gloomy. It’s been raining off and on since Saturday and non-stop all day :(. But coming home to a cup of the Mango Madness tea was amazing. It’s so fruity and somehow cheerful that I didn’t have the heart to be as somber as the weather πŸ™‚

Have you ever had David’s Tea’s Mango Madness Tea?
Do you have any suggestions for a whites tea I should try that actually showcase the taste of white tea?

I really want to know what white tea is supposed to taste like. The two white teas I’ve had so far both contained mangoes which seems to overpower everything in its path πŸ˜•

Typically I like to keep my tea and my fruit poles apart but you have inspired me to take a risk…no branch of David’s Tea in Bim so will search the supermarket shelves and ‘try a ting’ myself…pray for me!

HAHA I know. The whole time I was writing the post I kept hearing you in my mind saying tea shouldn’t be fruity! It’s nice to take a walk on the wild side and not listen to my mother tho πŸ˜‰ lol
