Hey There! How’s it goin?

It’s a glorious day here in Waterloo! It really isn’t but it’s my birthday so I can say it’s glorious if I want to πŸ˜‰

Some Birthday Highlights:

Played phone tag with the parental unit until I finally got my birthday morning call πŸ™‚ Yes! It was a long distance call all the way from Trinidad…clearly they love me πŸ˜‰

Had lunch with my bestest bud and because I love breakfast food so much I opted for Cora πŸ˜€

How to Exercise at Home Effectively

Moving on!

For this week’s Wellness Wednesday post I’ll be talking about at-home workouts again. Where as last week was all about At-Home Workout Equipment, today I want to focus on how to actually get in a good workout when you exercise at home.

A lot of you might be thinking that it’s easy to exercise at home once you’ve got all your equipment. You don’t have to waste time getting to and from the gym, you don’t have that gym intimidation that a lot of us face and you don’t have to wait your turn to use the equipment. What could possibly go wrong?!?

While it’s true that in some ways it’s easier to exercise at home, at-home workouts have their own slew of problems that make it hard to be effective every time.

For example,

  • It’s easy to get distracted at home not exercise even though you planned to
  • You can have all the equipment in the world but not know what you actually what to work out
  • You can get bored quickly with the few workout routines you do know

The infographic below gives a few tips for how to be effective when you exercise at home by avoiding some of these common problems. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

What about you?

Do you have any tips for getting in a great workout when you exercise at home?

Bye for now!

Working out at home is actually my favorite! Of course it is easier said than done with a child, but I typically do it A) when she naps B) when she is excited so she thinks it’s funny to see me boppin’ around. I hope you had a fantastic birthday and don’t forget to treat yourself to an early bed time, new nailpolish, and a cute pair of shoes!

Honestly, you (and all other fit-Moms) are my hero! I seriously hope when I have kids I can be dedicated enough to find ways to stay fit! It’s hard even now with just school/work πŸ˜•
And yes my day was super awesome! The early bedtime is debatable, but the new nail polish and shoes are gonna happen tomorrow for sure! πŸ˜€

While it is true that exercising at home is more convenient in certain respects, it also has its own set of issues that make it difficult to be productive every time. Many people believe that once you have all of your equipment, exercising at home is simple. You won’t have to waste time travelling to and from the gym, you won’t be intimidated by the gym as many of us are, and you won’t have to wait your turn to utilize the equipment. Noritz

Exercise is one of the first things people think of when they hear the word β€œweight loss.”
After exercise is almost always part of a weight-loss regimen
